Welcome to TVTM, we are a 501c3 nonprofit track team that has been in existence for 30 years. We are very excited to work with you and your child(ren) this season. Below are answers to a few question you may have. Please feel free to contact any of the staff members should you have additional questions.
What Does my Child’s Registration Cover?
Registration covers USATF/AAU membership for the year, track meet fees, and our ability to utilize Murrieta Mesa High School facilities (lights, janitorial fees for the restrooms)
When is Practice?
Practices will normally be held Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday of each week from 6-7:30 pm.
Please be on-time bringing your children and picking them up. This is a courtesy to the coaches. We begin each day with two warm up laps and then on to the plyo-metric warm ups. It slows down the rhythm of the warm ups if your child is late. End of practice is between 7pm to 7:30 depending the child’s age and the planned workout. All parents must come to the track to pick up your child. No children will be permitted to walk from the stadium to the parking lot alone. Please be on time.
Can Parents Walk on the Track and Stairs During Practice?
Yes, but the athlete’s will need all of the lanes on the track so you will have to watch out for incoming runners, You can only use lane 9. Also, the track is unavailable for parents during Lacrosse Meets.
Can Parents Run with Distance Kids When Off Track?
Yes, look at it as a great way to get in-shape with your child, and we need as many eyes out there as possible when running off track.
Do I Need to Purchase Track Spikes and/or Running Shoes?
Depending on which events your child will be competing in coaches will advise which shoes to get. If track spikes are required most of the stores in our area do not carry younger children spikes.
Which Spikes Do I need?
Most tracks require 3/16 needle or pyramid spikes. The shoes come with ¼ so you will need to change them. Each meet flier will identify required spikes. Coaches will remind as well.
Where Can I get Youth Spikes?
www.vsathletics.com look for Puma TFX Sprint V5 Size 2.0 or VS Athletics Alpha Multi 3 Youth Size 13.0 to 4.5

How Long are the Track Meets?
Expect to be at the meet for at least 8 to 10 Hours. Youth meets are long.
*PLEASE DO NOT ASK US WHEN YOU SHOULD ARRIVE TO THE MEET OR WHEN WE THINK YOUR CHILD’S EVENT WILL START*
In most cases it is a rolling schedule and can change on the day of the meet depending on meet management. We do not have an accurate answer for you.
How will I know which events my child will be doing at the meets?

How do I sign my child up for meets?
Prior to each meet a meet flier will be emailed to the team. Please respond to the email as to whether your athlete(s) will be in attendance. If it is a two-day meet, please indicate which day(s) your athlete(s) will be in attendance.
Can I register my child on the day of the meet?
In most cases no, but some of the San Diego meets allow this. There will be an additional fee and you will have to cover that cost.
What do I need to bring to the meets?
Healthy food for you and your child, plenty of water, healthy snacks, sun block, stadium chairs, books, tablets, etc. Most meets have a concession stand but they typically offer hamburgers, hotdogs, soda etc.
